LAST NIGHT: 1-0 (+18.5 units)
FEBRUARY: 11-9-1 (+28.6 units)
ALL TIME: 11-9-1 (+28.6 units)
RECAP: Boom! Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers were unstoppable last night. They went up 2-0 early and never looked back. The game was violent from the beginning, absolutely wonderful to watch. The victory was never in question as Connor McDavid lead the team to a 6-3 victory. McDavid came out angry and aggressive and put up 1 goal and 2 assists. However, one player on the Flyers, Brandon Manning impressed me a lot, by dropping the gloves against the much bigger Patrick Maroon. The Edmonton fans wanted a chance at payback and Manning showing he is a true hockey player took on the challenge. His possibly broken nose, should end the beef that started last season when Brandon Manning injured Connor McDavid, ending his chances at the Calder Trophy. No NBA for a week, lets see what degenerate picks I can find.
IONA -9.5 at Marist
6pm central
(11 units wagered, 10 units won)
I know, I know, last time we took Iona it didn't go too well. Both teams were scoring, and Iona blew a late game lead, due to turning the ball over. Stuff happens... Marist is 6-21 and is currently ranked 323 in the Kenpom rankings, Iona still sits at 115. Marist sits at 302nd in opponents ppg. Iona is 36th in points per game at over 80. The Red Foxes will have no answer for the Gaels offense and should also struggle to put up points. Marist can't score against anyone and is 274th in ppg. Marist is really, really bad at basketball. Take Iona, they won't let us down twice.
Colorado Avalanche at CAROLINA HURRICANES -1.5 +115
630pm central
(10 units wagered, 11.5 units won)
The Avalanche have played 3 games since the Carolina Hurricanes have last played. In that 3 game span they are 0-3. You may say the Hurricanes could come out slow due to not playing for almost a week. I find it more likely that the long road trip the Avalanche are on will cause them to come out even slower. Carolina is by no means a good hockey team. That being said they do sit at 19th in the league in goals per game. Colorado sits dead last. When it comes to goals against Carolina is nothing special, sitting at 20th in the league....But the Avalanche are also dead last in that category. The Avalanche are bad. They have been on the road for awhile. They played last night. The Hurricanes shouldn't have a problem putting up 4-6 goals on them tonight. I am not too worried about Colorado finding a way to score either. Carolina may not have a Connor McDavid, but they should get the job done.
